At the Dept. of Plant Science, we research basic and applied science and technology for the utilization and development of the plant industry required for human health and welfare, cultural life, leisure, and tourism. What we do is primarily related to humanity's health and welfare.

The plant industry includes the production, utilization, development, and distribution of vegetables, fruits, and health functional plants, agricultural product quality control, silver gardening, and horticultural therapy. The cultural life plant industry includes flower design, indoor landscaping, flower shop business, aromatherapy, herbal fragrances, and natural cosmetics. The leisure and tourism plant industries include landscaping and managing golf courses, botanical gardens, housing gardens, green tourism, and rural life.

Thus, plant science is becoming more critical for economic development, advancement of the country, and human well-being / cultural life.
